Apple today released updates for both Logic Pro and MainStage enabling the applications to run in 64-bit mode allowing access to larger amounts of memory.
When applications run in 32-bit mode the maximum amount of addressable memory is 4GB, 64-bit gives applications the potential to use 64 exabytes of memory.
Apple has also written an FAQ about the update. Release notes are also available for Logic Pro 9.1 and MainStage 2.1.
The updates can be obtained through Software Update.
