Gartner is reporting that estimated figures suggest that Apple has made significant gains in the third quarter of 2009 in the UK. The figures based on PC vendor shipments including both desktops and notebooks show that Apple shipped gained 5% of the UK market share placing them fifth amongst other manufacturers.

Apple is estimated to have shipped 165,000 during 3Q09 pushing its market share up from 3.8% in 3Q08 and also representing year-over-year unit growth of 26.6%. This unit growth is significantly different to the average decline of unit shipments of 2.4% by other manufacturers.
